The customer supplies crankshafts to multiple automotive OEMs, resulting in a high-mix production environment with frequent model changeovers.
To address this, STON Robotics implemented a line-side AS/RS (stacker crane buffer system) for each truss line, enabling rapid model switching as well as offline and in-line operations. This significantly enhances production flexibility and responsiveness.
The entire line is integrated with a digital control system connected to the factory MES, enabling real-time order-driven scheduling and dynamic production adjustment. The solution delivers highly flexible, data-driven manufacturing for multi-variant crankshaft production.
